Christian Truths

Introduction

It makes no difference whether you are a Christian or of another persuasion, this site has information that is vital to your life today and in the future. All of us are involved in warfare. Sadly, many Christians and non Christians alike are neither fighting anything at all nor are they standing for anything. Since all of us are engaged in this warfare, whether we realize it or not, we must fight and stand for something or die for nothing.

The Enemies of Mankind

There are some enemies we must overcome in this warfare or we lose and our end is a lake of fire. One enemy is God and we cannot overcome the others until we make peace with God. God is all powerful and cannot be defeated but he extends an invitation to each of us so that we can have everlasting life with joy, no suffering and happiness. With God's help we can overcome all other enemies.

An internal enemy is the flesh, an external enemy is the devil, and those who have not been saved, have another external enemy, God. Our internal enemy, the flesh, is what we inherited from Adam and the Bible says it is sinful. This is an enemy we cannot overcome - without help. The external enemy is Satan and his angelic host. The devil is a created being, an angel. Angel's are far more powerful than man, both physically and mentally. There is no way we can defeat the devil and his host without help. Another enemy is the world. Satan is the god of this world and uses it in an attempt to accomplish his will. There is yet another enemy we have if we are lost and that is God. Since God is all powerful there is no way we can defeat him with or without help. However, we can make peace "with" God and with His help we can then have victory over the flesh and the devil.

Although far too many people including Christians don't appear to know that we are all engaged in a warfare. There is a spiritual warfare being waged 24/7 whether we know it or not and whether we participate or not. Paul, when writing to a young preacher named Timothy, mentioned that battle and warfare, 1 Timothy 1:18. The unredeemed man, the lost man, those without Christ, have a formidable enemy. That enemy is God! It can be seen in Romans 5:8-10 that we were enemies of God but He loved us even when we were in our sins and made a way for us to be reconciled to Him and saved by His life. That reconciliation and salvation is through the death of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8-9.

How does one tell the truth from lies? Truth can not be downgraded to the opinion of man nor can we find truth by in any relative terms. There is truth and then there are lies or errors. Truth is absolute! Truth is based on a solid foundation of the Word of God. In a declaration Jesus made to the Father He said, "Your word is truth", John 17:17. We have the command in 2 Timothy 2:15 to study diligently and then we can rightly divide the Word of God. Through study we can begin to see the truth. We can't just read the bible but we must study it diligently, meditate upon it, apply it to our lives, make it a part of us and then we will begin to know the benefits of God's Word, Psalm 1:1-3.

Part of this spiritual warfare, we are all engaged in, is the battle between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of Satan. Christian truth is the absolute truth given to us in God's Word. It is this absolute truth that can be used to discern the lies coming from the kingdom of Satan. Study the Bible taking it as it is written, literally, except where the language uses figures of speech and/or clearly indicates that it is a parable or allegory. In this way you will come to the absolute truth presented to mankind in God's Word.
